Beginning Thursday, Aug. 29, and running through Labor Day weekend, UNC’s renowned women’s soccer team will play two games during the Husky Invitational at the University of Washington.

Carolina will face UW Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. at Husky Soccer Stadium, 4000 Walla Walla Road NE. Then, on Sunday, Sept. 1, the Heels take on the Portland Pilots. Match time is 11:30 a.m.

UNC and UW have met four previous times, with the Heels winning all matches. UNC has never played Portland.

The games return senior forward Madison Schultz, who played prep ball at Edmonds-Woodway High School, to the Northwest.

The tournament coincides with the Husky Invitational Prospect ID Camp, where UNC’s Anson Dorrance will participate on an exclusive panel featuring top Division 1 coaches.

The event also gives area UNC alumni an opportunity to come out and support one of the nation’s top women’s soccer teams.
