Your Seattle Carolina Club’s new home for watching exciting Tar Heel football and basketball action is Fado Irish Pub, 801 1st Ave., Seattle.
First Game Watch
We will christen our new viewing venue on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 5 p.m. with UNC’s first ACC football encounter, a challenging battle against Miami.
The Pub is located on the corner of 1st Avenue and Columbia Street, a short walk from downtown, Pike Place Market, and Pioneer Square. Parking garages are nearby, as are public transportation stops.
Food and Drink
Fado Irish Pub offers patrons 18 draft beers, more than two dozen bottled beers, and a scratch kitchen. Popular appetizers include sliders, fish tacos, salmon bites, and pretzels. Besides the foods expected from an Irish pub, including Shepard’s pie and fish-and-chips, other popular entrees include black bean burger, lamp dip, Ruben, and chicken baguette. Menu choices change seasonally.
Best of all from a UNC fan perspective, Fado Irish Pub has signed on to air the fledgling ACC Network on DirecTV. That enables us to see the UNC-Miami football clash on Sept. 7, as well as the Carolina-Notre Dame ACC basketball opener on Nov. 6.
So join your fellow Puget Sound area Tar Heels for food, drink, fellowship, and cheering at our new home: Fado Irish Pub. And share this information with UNC alumni new to the area and with those who are unaware that our previous viewing venue has closed.
See you Saturday, Sept. 7, 5 p.m. at 801 1st Ave., Seattle.
